We've had a lot of requests to bring this duo back! Join us for an intimate evening of jazz with two accomplished New York musicians. Pianist Dave Marck and flutist/pianist Tim Harrison will perform a wide variety of classic jazz by Duke Ellington, Richard Rodgers, George Gershwin, Miles Davis and others. Watching these guys play "1 piano - 4 hands" is a real treat!
A couple guests may also connect with the duo for what's guaranteed to be another special night of music and camaraderie.
DAVE MARCK
New York pianist Dave Marck was the Musical Director for Jacques D'amboise's National Dance Institute, a children's arts organization for over 35 years. Dave has performed with such luminaries as Junior Cook, Jed Levy, Valery Ponomarev and many others. He hosts a jazz workshop three nights a week featuring many top New York players. Every fall, Marck sponsors a free community jazz concert at Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI, featuring local musicians.
TIM HARRISON
A native of Nottingham, England, Tim studied classical flute at the Royal College of Music in London, where he worked as a professional musician for eight years. At the age of 26 he changed instruments, started learning jazz piano, and a year later won a scholarship to the University of North Texas. After receiving his master’s degree Harrison co-led the Unified Jazz Ensemble, a quintet that for four years lived, performed, and taught in small towns in Iowa and Arkansas for the National Endowment for the Arts.
Harrison moved to New York in 1996, where he performs, composes and teaches. In 2004 his orchestral composition Prelude and Dirge was commissioned and premiered by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Harrison is a member of two jazz trios that released CDs in 2018: he plays flutes on Neal Kirkwood’s “Blue Inventions”, and piano on the Mark WadeTrio’s CD, “Moving Day”.
